The Sustainable Blue Economy Partnership has opened its third co-funded transnational call: “Digitalisation and Innovation for Resilient Marine Ecosystems, Businesses, and Communities to Strengthen the EU Blue Economy’s Competitiveness.”
This call will support 36-month research and innovation projects that make impact-driven contributions to the transition towards a resilient, carbon-neutral and sustainable blue economy. Proposals are expected to follow an impact pathway approach and focus on one of the following areas:

- Climate-smart planning and management of sea uses at regional level
- Blue bioresources: sustainable fisheries, aquaculture & new bio-based products
- Resilient coastal communities and businesses
The third call, which is co-branded as part of the UN Decade of Ocean Science for Sustainable Development, pools national, regional and EU contributions with an estimated budget of EUR 43.5 million. It brings together 38 funding organisations from 28 countries: Belgium, Brazil, Croatia, Cyprus, Denmark, Estonia, the Faroe Islands, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Iceland, Ireland, Israel, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Malta, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, The Netherlands, Tunisia, and Türkiye.
