Navigating Change: Towards the Energy Transition in the EU Fisheries and Aquaculture

The European Commission will take a key step toward reshaping how Europe's fishing and aquaculture sectors power their operations when it convenes at a high-level energy transition conference in Brussels on 17 February 2026. The discussions will feed directly into an EU roadmap due later in 2026.

Highlights include:

  1. Participation of the European Commissioner for Fisheries and Oceans, alongside representatives from the EU Council Presidency and the European Parliament.
  2. Keynote presentations outlining the EU’s energy transition ambitions and progress toward the Energy Transition Roadmap, to be published in 2026.
  3. Panel discussions on the main results from the sectoral consultation, led by Support Group Coordinators, focusing on areas of agreement and actions to overcome challenges.
