BeMed launched a call for projects to reduce plastic pollution in the Mediterranean islands. Five projects and a capitalisation programme were supported, ending in 2022. Now, they are launching a second edition of this call.
The rules in applying include:
Eligible geographical areas: The project must target a Mediterranean island (or group of islands) of any size, whether inhabited or not, in any of the countries around the Mediterranean. The following countries will be given priority: Egypt, Lebanon, Albania, Morocco, Algeria, Tunisia, Turkey and Montenegro.
Priority topics: Reducing plastics, use or re-employment systems, agriculture and fisheries, tourism, cruises and maritime transport.
Amount of funding:
– BeMed’s maximum support for each project will be €100,000.
– BeMed support may not exceed 70% of the total amount of the project.
Duration of supported projects: 24 months maximum.
Start of projects: starting from February 2025.
The call will stay open until 10 July at 11PM (Paris time GMT+1).
